Roasted BBQ Clams at The Place

These roasted clams changed my life. Or at least my culinary perceptions of clams.

Hi Eric! I happened upon your blog while searching for images of the roasted clams at The Place. I am heading to RI and CT in the next couple of days and The Place was on my list. I do not have much of a culinary history with clams but descriptions that I have read make me want to try these but I don't know if I should eschew the steak or whatever in order to eat the clams. You seemed to have a similar experience. Would you have the clams again? What else did you try? Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Absolutely I would have them again. I really was lukewarm about clams until I tried these, and now I can't wait to go back.

We also tried the bluefish, a Connecticut specialty, which is a oily fish with a lot of flavor.
