Yellow Squash and Sweet Potato Galette

My wife's latest creation - a yellow squash and sweet potato galette, with caramelized onions and a chili-garlic drizzle to give it a bit of spice and salt to this delicious meal.

 

Morning Glory Cafe, Old Lyme

Stopped by the Morning Glory Café in Old Lyme for a spot of lunch the other day.

Absolutely delicious egg rolls (see above) and pho (see below).

Amy had an "Asian salad" that was also delicious. The owners fled Laos in 1980 and have made their home here ever since, making great food for the rest of us Connectors.

Beach Donuts in Clinton

This is one of the best places to get donuts (or doughnuts) in Connecticut. The glazed are particularly tempting, and I like the chocolate frosting, as well. The one cookies and cream donut pictured here is almost too decadent! With a place like this, I'm not sure why anyone would go to...what's the name of that chain again?
