This little section of the Farmington Canal is in Norton Park in Plainville - a wonderful little extant piece of the celebrated marine path. Go to the annual balloon festival in August that takes place in the park in August, and dream of the fabled days of canal boats.

Wow, There used to be canal boats in that? They thought for a while canals would build America until the invention of the train
Yup. It seems small, but they really fit the canal boats in tight. Plus, there's been some erosion - it was probably a bit wider than this in the 1830s.
